It is believed that the blaze involved a restaurant located on the 57th floor of the building, Bernama reported.
Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department director Hassan As’ari Omar confirmed the incident and said no casualties have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, Sentul fire and rescue station chief Hafizan Hassan said they received a distress call at 6.41am and dispatched a team to the location.
“The Kuala Lumpur operations centre also sent fire engines from the Tun Razak and Hang Tuah stations, as well as 35 personnel, to the scene,” he said.
Hafizan added that the fire affected 30% of the restaurant.
“The blaze was brought under control at 7.04am and was finally extinguished at 8.45am. There were no casualties, and we are now conducting investigations at the building,” he said.
On how the fire was brought under control, Hafizan said fire and rescue personnel had entered the building using the firefighters’ (Bomba) lift and put out the blaze using the wet riser system.
