Newborn baby girl found abandoned in Subang Jaya

Police are tracking down the person who abandoned a newborn baby girl, who was alive, outside a house in Subang Jaya yesterday.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said they received information from the public about the discovery of the baby next to a house on Jalan USJ 9/5K, Subang Jaya, at 10.27am, Bernama reported.

The baby was found inside a blue bag, unclothed, with the umbilical cord still covered in blood.

“The baby was taken to the Shah Alam Hospital for further treatment. She weighed 2.6kg and is in a healthy and stable condition,” Wan Azlan said in a statement.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth.
