PETALING JAYA:
Kuala Lumpur police have completed their investigation paper into an extortion and molest case involving a female student and three police officers.

City police chief Fadil Marsus said the probe paper was referred to the deputy public prosecutor’s office today, with the cops recommending that the three officers be charged in court.

Fadil said they recommended charging one of the suspects under Section 354 of the Penal Code for use of criminal force with intent to outrage one’s modesty and all three under Section 384 of the same law for extortion.

“A disciplinary investigation on the three policemen is being held concurrently by the integrity and standards compliance department. The trio remain on active duty but are not in the field.

“They will be suspended from duty if we get the order to charge them,” he said in a statement.

The three officers were arrested last month after the student lodged a police report. She claimed she and her boyfriend were stopped by a group of officers along Jalan Sentul Pasar in the early hours of Sept 17.

The student alleged that she was told to have sex with one of the officers or pay RM10,000. She also claimed that one of the officers pinched her breast.
