PETALING JAYA:
A six-year-old boy found critically injured at his home in Parit Raja, Johor, yesterday morning with a slash wound to the neck is now in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Batu Pahat police chief Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the boy was still at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for further treatment.

He said the child is now able to speak, but police have not recorded a statement as the victim is still recovering post-surgery.

“We are still conducting a detailed investigation to identify the exact cause of the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous bodily harm,” Bernama reported him as saying.

Yesterday, Shahrulanuar said the victim’s 40-year-old mother reported the incident at 9am, having found her son injured when she woke up at 5.30am that morning.

He advised the public not to speculate or share unverified information on the incident, as it could jeopardise police investigation.
