PETALING JAYA: Police have tracked down the owner of a car, found to have been driven in a reckless and dangerous manner in Puchong in July, after a video of the incident went viral on Facebook.
Serdang police chief Farid Ahmad said police received a report on July 27 from a road user who said he felt unsafe because of the driver’s conduct on Jalan Merbok, Puchong.
He said the case was investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to have proper control of a vehicle, as no accident had occurred at that time.
“On Oct 25, a three-minute long dashcam recording went viral on social media, which showed the car passing through Jalan Merbok in a reckless manner by overtaking dangerously, running through a traffic light, and entering the wrong lane against the flow.
“The owner of the car has been identified to assist in our investigation,” he said in a statement today.
