Woman dies after being dragged 40m under lorry

A motorcycle carrying the victim and a man had collided with a car, throwing her in the lorry’s path.

PETALING JAYA:
A woman was killed on the Jalan Kuching-Samarahan Expressway in Kuching, Sarawak, this morning after being dragged under a lorry.

A motorcycle, carrying the woman and a man, had crashed into a car near the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) traffic lights.

The collision threw her under the lorry, which dragged her for 40m.

The Sarawak fire and rescue department said they received an emergency call at 9.30am, and sent six personnel from the Kota Samarahan station to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the motorcycle completely burnt following the crash, Dayak Daily reported the department as saying.

The female driver of the car, and the male motorcyclist were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
