Restaurant cook dies in motorcycle-SUV crash in Terengganu

PETALING JAYA:
A restaurant cook died in Setiu, Terengganu, today after his motorcycle and an SUV collided at Km61 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kota Bharu in Kampung Rahmat.

Setiu police chief Zain Mat Dris said Loh Eng Keat, 61, from Penang died at the scene.

He said police were informed of the accident at 11.37am.

The SUV, with three people onboard, was believed to have been en route from Kuala Terengganu to Kota Bharu, while the victim was headed in the opposite direction, Berita Harian reported him as saying.

He said the body was sent to Setiu Hospital for a post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
