PETALING JAYA: Police have ruled out foul play in the death of a Universiti Malaya (UM) student who fell from one of its residential colleges yesterday.
Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said the post-mortem found that the 22-year-old died due to severe head injuries sustained from a fall from a height, Berita Harian reported.
“No signs of strangulation or other criminal elements were detected,” he was quoted as saying.
Shamsudin said the post-mortem revealed that the victim suffered injuries to the head and chest.
He added that the victim’s remains would be claimed by his family members today for burial.
The university previously said the student fell at around 3.30pm yesterday and was taken to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for treatment.
