PETALING JAYA:
The Kedah education department will expel all students involved in the Baling rape case and the circulation of pornographic content at the school.

The department said it views the matter seriously and will not hesitate to take firm disciplinary action, Bernama reported.

“The case is currently under police investigation and all suspects have been remanded. The department is giving its full cooperation in the ongoing probe.

“Immediate steps have also been taken to provide support to the victim, with priority given to ensure her safety and wellbeing,” it was quoted as saying in a statement today.

The department added that the education ministry has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct in schools and is working to strengthen measures to safeguard students and staff.

It was earlier reported that four teenagers, including three from a school in Baling, had been arrested for suspected gang rape and the circulation of pornographic content on social media.

Acting Baling police chief Ahmad Salimi Mat Ali said they received a report from a 53-year-old man on Sunday after he was informed that a video showing his child in the nude had gone viral.
