Barat Daya police chief Sazalee Adam said the incident occurred at 4.30am in the boys’ dormitory of the training centre last Sunday, reported Berita Harian.
Sazalee said the victims were pupils from a primary school in Perak who were attending a two-day programme at the training centre.
He said the victims claimed the facilitator had touched them inappropriately and immediately informed their teacher.
It is understood that the suspect also sent inappropriate and sexually suggestive text messages to the boys.
Sazalee said the 33-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Sungai Petani, Kedah, yesterday after a report was lodged by the school’s headmaster on the same day.
The suspect, who works part-time as a facilitator at the academy, is also an ustaz (religious teacher) at the training centre.
The suspect was remanded for seven days to assist investigations into the case under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for sexual assault.
