PETALING JAYA: The government will allocate RM2.62 billion in various agriculture subsidies for farmers next year.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said this marks the largest allocation for agricultural subsidies in Malaysia’s history.
Funds will be channelled towards padi cultivation, fertiliser, seed and padi production incentives, among others.
Anwar added that the government will raise seasonal incentives for padi harvesting, ploughing and pesticide use.
He said each farmer will receive approximately RM4,300 per hectare in seasonal aid, up from RM3,790 previously.
