PETALING JAYA: A lorry driver was burnt to death after the vehicle he was driving overturned and burst into flames at KM28 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway, headed from Genting Sempah to the city centre early this morning.
The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Izzat Kamaruddin, Sinar Harian quoted the fire and rescue department as saying.
The department was alerted to the incident at around 4.21am, but firefighters only arrived at 5.07am, by which time the lorry was about 60% destroyed.
The fire was put out at 5.12am while the lorry driver was confirmed dead at the scene.
