PETALING JAYA:
Another victim of last week’s crash at the Bukit Kajang toll plaza has died, bringing the death toll to two.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 48-year-old civil servant died while receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of Kajang Hospital at 11am today, Kosmo reported.

“The body will be released to the family once the post-mortem is completed,” Naazron said in a statement today.

He said an investigation is ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous driving causing death.

Police are waiting for a full report from the relevant agencies before completing the investigation paper.

The Sept 27 crash involved a lorry, two SUVs and a car, killing a one-year-old baby and injuring seven others.

The 42-year-old lorry driver, who was arrested, said he jumped out of the vehicle as its brakes had failed.

Naazron said the driver had a record for three drug and crime-related cases, as well as four traffic summonses in 2013 and 2016. However, his urine test came back negative for drugs and alcohol.
