Perak police chief Noor Hisam Nordin said the reports were lodged by several parties in Ipoh yesterday.
“Rafidah has not yet been called to give her statement,” Bernama reported him as saying in Ipoh.
Rafidah had previously claimed in a short video posted on social media that Surau al-Karamah in Pasir Puteh would be demolished by a housing developer to make way for a road.
She had criticised the demolition of the surau, calling it excessive, and urged the public to show up at the surau site on Oct 2 to support the protest.
Malay Mail reported Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president Annuar Zaini as saying the issue had long been resolved.
He said the surau had been relocated to a new site about 250m from its original location, on land legally endowed to MAIPk.
Ipoh Timor PKR Youth chief Izzuddin Hariz also said attempts by certain individuals to revive the issue were irresponsible and aimed at fuelling public resentment against the government.
