PETALING JAYA: A seven-year-old boy died this afternoon a week after he was allegedly hit on the head with a hammer by his uncle at Jelawat in Bachok, Kelantan.
Ammar Badrul’s father, Badrul Rameli, 31, said his eldest son died at 3.02pm at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Specialist Hospital, Berita Harian reported.
Ammar was allegedly attacked on Sept 25 by his 46-year-old uncle, who had a history of drug abuse and was believed to have been hallucinating during the incident.
The uncle fled the scene on a motorcycle before he was alleged to have taken his own life at the Pantai Melawi area that night.
Police later arrested his wife to assist in the investigation. She is also being probed for child abuse or neglect.
