Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department director Rusdi Isa said a syndicate was found using hijacked accounts for cybercrimes such as impersonation, extortion and online scams.
Monitoring by police found a TikTok account under the username “buana.binti.abdul” promoting the programme with a link that redirects users to a foreign website, he said in a Bernama report.
“The suspicious link, https://info-rumah-ppr2025-ill22.uaejob.my, leads to https://info-rumah-ppr2025-ill22.uaejob.my.id/, is not an official Malaysian government domain,” Rusdi said in a statement.
The fake website prompts victims to submit personal details, including their full name, phone number and a one-time password (OTP) sent to their phone, which can then be used to access their Telegram account.
Rusdi said no police reports have been received so far but he urged the public not to click on suspicious links or provide personal details to unofficial websites.
