TELUK INTAN:
A property dispute is believed to be the motive behind the murder of an elderly woman whose body was discovered in a car in Simpang Pulai on Sept 7.

Perak police chief Noor Hisam Nordin said the main suspect was related to the victim but is believed to have fled abroad.

“It was indeed related to a dispute over inheritance. All nine people detained earlier were also related,” he told reporters. However, the motive of the killing could only be confirmed after the suspect is arrested.

Noor Hisam said a police constable who was shot by the murder suspect was in stable condition in hospital.

“We have yet to recover the constable’s pistol, which was seized by the suspect during the incident,” he said.
