PETALING JAYA:
Sabah PAS commissioner Aliakbar Gulasan has lodged a police report after vandals splashed paint near his house gate and left a note with the word “Datuk” written in large red letters this morning.

In a Facebook video, Aliakbar said the act was an apparent threat or attempt at intimidation, but said he was not accusing any party of being behind it.

“I hope this will not happen again, even if it may be linked to politics; this is an old tactic that should be left behind. We should practice democracy that is healthy, calm and peaceful and may we bring Sabah towards a more peaceful and safer future,” he said.

Aliakbar also said he had never resorted to name-calling or abusive language in political campaigns, saying politics should be based on good values, courtesy and mutual respect.

He urged police to investigate thoroughly and safeguard his family’s safety.
