PETALING JAYA:
A man, believed to be a Myanmar national, was found dead in a drain near a Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) substation in Alor Gajah, Melaka, today.

The Melaka fire and rescue department said the man is believed to have been electrocuted.

The department received an emergency call at about 2.30pm and dispatched a fire engine with nine firemen from the Ayer Keroh fire and rescue station to the location.

“TNB personnel cut off the power supply at the substation before the victim’s body was removed,” it said in a statement.

Health ministry personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Acting Alor Gajah police chief Azrul Mohamed said police are working to gather more information, including identifying the victim.
