SHAH ALAM:
Police are tracking down an Indonesian man named Sanusi Saripin to assist in investigations into the stabbing of his ex-wife in Banting yesterday.

Kuala Langat police chief Akmalrizal Radzi said the man is believed to have fled with the knife said to have been used in the stabbing.

He said the 45-year-old suspect was apparently dissatisfied with the victim, also an Indonesian, after they divorced a year ago.

“The suspect also claimed that the victim’s employer had influenced her not to reconcile with him,” Akmalrizal said in a statement.

Yesterday, Akmalrizal confirmed that an Indonesian woman sustained internal bleeding after being stabbed in the abdomen at Jalan Redan Kanchong Darat, Banting, near here, at about 8.50am.

The 44-year-old woman was taken to the Banting Hospital.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
