PETALING JAYA:
The body of an unidentified man with cut wounds in the neck was found floating in Sungai Kelantan near the Sultan Yahya Petra bridge in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, yesterday.

Kota Bharu police chief Rosdi Daud said police received an emergency call at 6.30pm, before sending a team from the Kelantan police headquarters to the scene.

He said the victim was dressed in a purple collared T-shirt and brown khaki shorts with a belt.

“The body was already bloated,” Bernama reported him as saying, adding that a post-mortem at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital’s forensic department confirmed the cause of death to be the neck wounds.

“The man’s identity has not been established, and police are awaiting fingerprint and DNA reports for identification purposes,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
