2 men held over shooting incident near Sibu

Cops say they received a report of a man firing shots before fleeing in a vehicle that was later found burned.

Police have detained two men believed to be involved in a shooting incident in the Simpang Jalan Majau-Kanowit-Song area, Kanowit, Sibu, last night.

Kanowit police chief Junical Ujal said both suspects were arrested at separate locations, Bernama reported.

One of them is believed to be the owner of a vehicle involved in the incident.

Junical said police received a report at around 8.30pm about a man who had fired shots before fleeing in a Toyota vehicle.

Later the same night, police found the vehicle burned along Jalan Penyulau.

According to Junical, no injuries were reported.
