PETALING JAYA: Authorities have foiled an attempt by a foreigner to smuggle about RM85,000 in unregistered medicines through KLIA Terminal 1 last night.
The Malaysian Border Control Agency said the man was flagged after a customs scan of his four bags showed he was carrying suspicious items.
An inspection revealed that the bags contained 30 types of medicines, none of which were registered with the health ministry, Harian Metro reported.
The agency also said the medicines were believed to be intended for the black market, targeting Bangladeshi nationals.
Among the items seized were controlled substances, psychotropic drugs, 1,000 tubes of anti-fungal cream, and 20,000 gastric treatment pills.
