PETALING JAYA:
A government MP hit out at officers under the investment, trade and industry ministry (Miti) today after issues he raised in the Dewan Rakyat apparently went unnoticed by them.

Upko’s Tuaran MP Wilfred Madius Tangau said he had raised multiple issues involving Sabah’s industries and competitiveness during his debate on the 13th Malaysia Plan.

However, he said Miti minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz did not respond to his points while winding up the debates on Tuesday.

When queried on the matter, Tengku Zafrul claimed Tangau had not raised the matters in his debate, which the Pakatan Harapan MP denied. The minister then turned around as though looking for his officers, before saying he would submit a written reply.

Tangau slammed the minister’s officers for “not being serious in carrying out their duties in Parliament”, stressing the importance of trade and investments in Sabah.

“I am very disappointed with the Miti officers (in charge of monitoring the debates of MPs) who have shown no diligence in responding or even monitoring the issues I raised,” he said in a statement.
