PETALING JAYA:
Two students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) died in two separate incidents within 24 hours at a condominium in Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

Berita Harian reported that the first incident occurred at 6.45am, in which a 22-year-old female student was found dead in a back lane of the condominium, believed to have fallen from the 22nd floor.

The second incident occurred at 8.30pm at the same condominium, this time involving a 21-year-old male student.

Based on public information, he is believed to have fallen from the topmost floor of the condominium, which has a cafeteria.

The two incidents are understood to be unrelated despite occurring on the same day and involving students from the same university.

Wangsa Maju police chief Lazim Ismail confirmed the two incidents, and said police would issue an official statement soon.

TAR UMT later released a statement expressing condolences and said the university had extended support to the family and friends of both students.
