The 35-year-old woman, who only wanted to be known as Mia, claimed that she lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Dec 5, 2023.

She said the report was made after she was physically injured and her mobile phone damaged by the man in an incident allegedly captured on closed-circuit television.

“Although evidence was submitted, almost two years have passed and there has been no progress in this case,” she told a press conference in front of the Dang Wangi police headquarters today.

Mia was accompanied by her lawyer, Goh Cia Yee.

Goh said the investigation paper had been referred to the Attorney-General’s Chambers early last year.

“Last month, the investigating officer informed us that the case was still under review by the department,” he said.

Mia also claimed she had been in a relationship with the man in 2021 and became pregnant in December that year.

“Although I did nothing wrong, I was imprisoned while pregnant over another incident, while my partner was released,” she said, declining to elaborate on that case.

“After my release, I ended the relationship but insisted that he take responsibility for our child, including providing financial support,” she said.

She also alleged that she had been harassed online, followed, and approached by individuals claiming to be police officers but who failed to present valid identification.

“I have lodged police reports and documented everything,” she said.
