PETALING JAYA: Former Sabak Bernam MP Mat Yasir Ikhsan passed away at 3am today at the University of Malaya Medical Centre from natural causes. He was 78.
The news was confirmed by his son, Azwan Mat Yasir, 45, in a Facebook post.
Azwan said his father’s funeral will be held at Surau Raudhah Al Muttaqin in Section 4, Shah Alam. He will be buried at the Muslim cemetery in Section 21, Shah Alam, after Asar prayers.
Mat Yasir was a former Umno state assemblyman for Sungai Air Tawar from 1999 to 2004 and served as the Sabak Bernam MP from 2004 to 2008.
