Cops looking for suspect over missing casino chips worth RM3mil

Police say the 44-year-old man is being investigated for alleged criminal breach of trust.

Police are tracking down a 44-year-old man suspected of being involved in criminal breach of trust involving RM3 million worth of casino chips at Genting Highlands.

Pahang deputy police chief Azry Akmar Ayob said they received a report from a 32-year-old manager who said the casino chips were taken from a closed casino room at the resort.

“An initial police investigation has identified a 44-year-old man as the suspect,” Bernama reported him as saying today.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 408 of the Penal Code for CBT, which carries a minimum penalty of one year and a maximum of 14 years in prison, as well as caning and a fine, upon conviction.
