Victim fights back, snatch thief caught with help from public

A 30-year-old man was caught by members of the public after a failed snatch theft attempt on Jalan Setia Prima in Setia Alam yesterday.

Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said the suspect was riding a motorcycle with a fake number plate when he tried to snatch a bag from a 37-year-old man at about 7pm.

“The victim fought back, causing the suspect to fall. He tried to run away but was caught with the help of the public,” he said, according to Kosmo.

Iqbal said the suspect, who admitted to being involved in two other snatch theft cases, has been remanded for four days.
