Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said a missing persons’ report had been lodged on the 23-year-old woman earlier.
The deceased’s older sister had lodged the report when she went missing.
“According to the report, the victim had asked the complainant to fetch her from the Putra Heights LRT station at noon.
“However, she (the complainant) was unable to contact her sister up till 2pm,” Berita Harian reported him as saying.
Wan Azlan said police later received information about the discovery of a body. They also found out from CCTV footage that the deceased had been in the area prior to her disappearance.
“Her kin were called in to identify the body. They confirmed that the clothes belonged to the woman. Sets of the victim’s fingerprints were also sent to the laboratory to confirm her identity before the body was handed over to the family,” he said.
He said a full report had yet to be received from the autopsy carried out at Serdang Hospital.
“Inspection of the body found no signs of struggle or foul play,” he said.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
