The corporation said Nurul Izzah, who is PKR deputy president, was appointed in her capacity as executive chairman of Polity, a new think tank.

Two industrial personalities were also appointed strategic advisers: former Nvidia Corp and Foxconn vice-president Lai Yit Loong and Foxconn director Chiang Shang-Yi.

They will focus on talent development and cross-border collaborations in technology and semiconductor manufacturing, in addition to sharing their experience in global semiconductor innovation and industry development.

Sidec said the appointments marked a strategic step in strengthening Selangor’s position as a regional innovation hub and accelerating the progress of the nation’s semiconductor ecosystem.

The corporation developed Malaysia’s first semiconductor integrated chip design park in Selangor. It is a subsidiary of Invest Selangor Bhd, which was established to drive the state’s digital transformation.
