MBI is finalising the construction drawings, which would take about six months, before submitting them to the Shah Alam City Council for regulatory approval, its CEO, Saipolyazan M Yusop said.

“We are still in the early stages of preparing the hoarding in accordance with Phase 1 of the construction project,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the opening of the Klang River waste sorting facility.
Phase 1 will cover the new stadium, parking lots, open spaces, and Jubilee Park, a public recreational area.
Saipolyazan also dismissed claims that the demolition of the old Shah Alam Stadium, for the new complex to be constructed, had been delayed.
He said the demolition work, scheduled for completion by June 30, had been “three to four days” ahead of schedule.
He said the concrete and materials from the substructure of the old stadium would be repurposed to form a 3m to 4m-high base for the new complex. The last section to be demolished was the stadium’s superstructure.
Plans to replace the iconic stadium with a modern sports complex were first announced by the Selangor government last year.
The new facility is expected to be completed in 2029, with construction led by Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd, which signed a memorandum of understanding with MBI.
