
Saifuddin was also appointed to the political bureau, the party announced after a central leadership council meeting this evening.
Former Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh and Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil were retained as secretary-general and information chief respectively, and Selayang MP William Leong as treasurer-general.
Fuziah and Leong had continued in their respective posts on an interim basis after the PKR polls concluded.
Mustapha Sakmud, a deputy minister, was confirmed as the party’s Sabah chief. The party had announced on May 29 that Mustapha would continue his role as the state chief. The announcement was made after the first meeting of the central political bureau for the 2025-2028 term chaired by party president Anwar Ibrahim.
In today’s statement, Fahmi thanked former deputy president Rafizi Ramli and other leaders for their contributions and services to the party, and hoped they would be able to still play a role.
Rafizi was the party’s election director leading up to the 2022 general election.
Fahmi said the meeting this evening discussed issues related to the global economy and geopolitics as well as the preparations for the impending Sabah elections.
