
Tampin police chief Amiruddien Sariman said the accident, which occurred at about 9pm, involved the duo’s motorcycle and a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The victims were aged 32 and 20, reported Bernama
Preliminary investigations found that the 34-year-old driver of the MPV was travelling from the Tampin Hospital staff quarters towards Tampin town.
“At the intersection, the driver was proceeding through a green light when the motorcycle, ridden by a local resident and a Bangladeshi passenger, entered from the right and collided with the front of the vehicle,” he said in a statement today.
The pillion rider died at the scene while the motorcyclist died while receiving treatment at Tampin Hospital.
The SUV driver suffered minor injuries to his chest.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
