PETALING JAYA: Nine secondary school students in Kemaman, Terengganu, have been remanded for three days to assist in an investigation into the alleged assault of a 14-year-old boy on two separate occasions last month.
Kemaman police chief Razi Rosli said the male students, aged between 15 and 18, were arrested yesterday after the victim, a Form 2 student, lodged a report.
“The victim claimed he was beaten by several students on May 27 and 28,” Razi said, according to Utusan Malaysia.
He said the incident is believed to have been triggered by one of the suspects becoming upset that the victim had kept photos of his ex-girlfriend, who is now dating the assailant.
