SHAH ALAM:
A company director at a consultancy firm has claimed trial at the sessions court here to another charge of failing to report bribery.

Last week, Ispandi Othman was slapped with 10 charges at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court for failing to report that the managing director of another company had offered him a total of RM100,000.

The money was meant to induce Ispandi to assist in speeding up claims filed by the other company’s managing director to the Social Security Organisation.

Today, Ispandi was slapped with a new charge under Section 25(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 for allegedly failing to report an offer of RM10,000 from the same managing director.

The offence was said to have taken place at premises on Jalan SG 3/19, Taman Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, on Oct 28, 2021.

Ispandi pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before judge Nasir Nordin.

The judge allowed deputy public prosecutor Selvam T Armugom’s request to transfer the case to the Kuala Lumpur sessions court to be heard with the 10 previous charges.

The judge also fixed July 4 for case mention.

Lawyer Nor Azam Rashid Zainol Rashid represented Ispandi.
