He was charged before judge Surita Budin with two counts of sexually assaulting the victim in a classroom of a Seremban school at 3.05pm on Nov 22, 2023, Berita Harian reported.

The charges were framed under Section 14(a) and (b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, which deals with touching a child’s body part and making a child touch a body part of another person for sexual purposes.

The provision carries a maximum 20-year jail term and whipping, upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni proposed that the court fix bail at RM20,000 on each charge, but lawyer Shameera Abdul Hamid urged the court to consider the age of the boy at the time the offence was committed.

Surita allowed the teen to post bail at RM10,000 on both charges and fixed June 20 for case mention pending a probation report.
