The agreement, he said, will include mutual recognition of both federal and state laws, Borneo Post reported.
“Just wait two more days. A document on the agreement between us and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will be released,” he was quoted as saying.
Last Friday, the Prime Minister’s Office said that Anwar and Abang Johari have agreed to finalise key principles to support negotiations between Petronas and Petros.
The negotiations, it was reported, were aimed at unlocking the full potential of the collaboration between Petronas and Petros and ensure effective implementation, including expediting the commercial supply of energy to Asean countries.
Tensions have been escalating between Petronas and Petros in a licensing dispute, after the Petronas exploration subsidiary Petronas Carigali was accused by Sarawak of operating its Miri crude oil terminal without a state licence.
The federal and Sarawak governments have been engaged in a dispute over the state’s oil and gas rights.
Today, Abang Johari said the agreement would include Petros being recognised as the sole aggregator.
He also said Sarawak will increase its stake in liquefied natural gas (LNG) through a commercial arrangement.
“Just wait. I’m only giving you a hint for now. I’ll tell you more soon.”
