Fahmi, who is also communications minister, said the findings would be disclosed “when the time comes”, adding that the government is leaving it to chief secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar to carry out the necessary procedures.
“We need to ensure the investigation is completed in full before its findings can be revealed,” he said at the communications ministry today.
Yesterday, Shamsul denied a Bloomberg report alleging that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had instructed a special committee to delay the release of its findings on Azam’s shareholdings, calling it unfounded and misleading.
He said that following the tabling of the committee’s findings at the Cabinet meeting on March 11, proceedings against Azam were initiated in accordance with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993.
“These proceedings involve established processes and procedures that must be followed. Any further developments will be announced from time to time,” he said.
Shamsul said the Attorney-General’s Chambers would take further action against Bloomberg over the report.
