Machang police chief Ahmad Shafiki Hussin said preliminary investigations found the victim was driving a Proton Wira from Kota Bharu towards Kuala Krai when the crash occurred at about 11.55am.

“The victim lost control of his car, skidded into the opposite lane and collided with a lorry travelling from Kuala Krai towards Kota Bharu.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was sent to Machang Hospital for a post-mortem,” Bernama reported him as saying.

Shafiki said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
