Ewon, who is also the Sabah Pakatan Harapan chairman, said Upko is already preparing for the polls amid internal discussions in the coalition and informal talks continue with other coalitions, Bernama reported.
He said the party must focus on the future of Sabah and its people after being part of the Malaysian federation for 62 years.
“This is long enough to reflect on our progress in infrastructure, economy, governance, cooperation and our collective attitude in Sabah,” he was quoted as saying in Kota Kinabalu last night.
Ewon, who won the Kadamaian seat with a majority of 3,459 votes in a six-cornered contest in 2020, said the coming election should be a measure of the unity of Sabahans as well as political leadership in the state.
