Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the victim filed a report claiming that a man she did not know had gone to the spa to enquire about its packages, supposedly for a friend of his.
He then covered her mouth with his hand and pulled her into one of the rooms, before demanding money while gripping her arm tightly.
“The suspect then tried to rape her, but she fought back and screamed for help, causing the teen to flee,” he said, according to Harian Metro.
The victim contacted her employer, who told her to lock the front door, but several minutes later the suspect appeared again and somehow managed to get into the premises.
Patit said the suspect again tried to rape her but fled after she called her employer.
The teen was arrested at a flat in Taman Merdeka at about midnight. The cops seized a helmet, the keys to a motorcycle and a motorcycle that was previously reported missing.
He has been remanded for seven days for further investigations into the attempted robbery and rape.
