KOTA BHARU: Police have arrested a man for stabbing his 11-year-old son three times at Kampung Banggol Che Dol near Pasir Mas, Kelantan, this morning.
Pasir Mas police chief Kama Azural Mohamed said they were alerted to the incident at 9.08am, shortly after the man stabbed his son twice in the chest and once in the abdomen with a knife.
“The incident is believed to have been caused by a domestic crisis. The suspect is going through his third divorce proceedings,” Kama Azural said in a statement.
The boy is being treated at Pasir Mas Hospital and will be referred to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu for further treatment.
The suspect, who has a history of mental health issues, is being held at the Pasir Mas police headquarters lockup.
An investigation is being held under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
