PETALING JAYA:
A Form 3 student at a secondary school in Kangar, Perlis, was hospitalised today after suffering a seizure believed to have been caused by vaping.

Harian Metro reported that in the 9.35am incident, the student had skipped class with two other friends while an English exam was going on.

Perlis education director Rose Aza Che Arifin said the two friends later carried the victim into class, unconscious and foaming from the mouth.

She said the invigilator on duty immediately reported the matter to the school administrator before contacting an ambulance and the student’s next of kin to bring him to the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital.

“The victim is believed to have been vaping with his friends in the school toilet at around 9.30am.

“Medical officers have not identified the type of vape used yet and we are helping the school prepare a preliminary report,” she said.

Rose Aza said her department has ordered the school’s discipline teacher and counsellor to be present at the hospital.
