KUALA LUMPUR:
The police station chief who was caught using drugs while partying at an entertainment outlet has been transferred to Penang.

City police chief Rusdi Isa said the station chief was immediately transferred to the Penang police headquarters’ operations room when he tested positive for drugs after last Friday’s raid.

“Nobody, including a policeman, is above the law,” Rusdi told a press conference.

“And as we know, the police are not allowed to be inside entertainment outlets unless it is related to their work.”

The 43-year-old police officer was among 17 people nabbed in a raid on the entertainment outlet in Pandan Perdana.

He tested positive for four types of drugs — amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine and benzodiazepine.

Previously, Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect was being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Rusdi confirmed the investigation is still ongoing.
