Ex-Perak Wanita Umno chief joins PAS

Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin was an executive councillor and a former two-term state assembly member for Kampong Gajah.

PETALING JAYA:
A former Perak Wanita Umno chief has joined PAS, handing her membership form to party president, Abdul Hadi Awang during the Ayer Kuning by-election campaign tonight.

Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin’s entrance into PAS was announced at a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Kampung Tanjung Keramat in Tapah, Perak. The event was also attended by PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad, Bersatu vice-president Ahmad Faizal Azumu and PAS election director Annuar Musa.

A former two-term Kampong Gajah assemblyman, Wan Norashikin had also served a stint as the executive councillor for women, family and community welfare development.

She failed to defend her seat in the 2022 general election, losing to Zafarulazlan Zan of PAS who won with a 3,345-vote majority.

She was also previously a member of Wanita Umno’s executive council.
