In a statement today, the school’s board of directors said a resignation letter from the principal, Gan Chuang Chee, was received on April 12.
“The board takes the matter seriously, and in our monthly meeting on April 17, we unanimously agreed to respect Gan’s decision,” the board said.
It also said an independent five-member team has been established to review complaints submitted by alumni regarding the matter.
There had been complaints earlier this month from schoolgirls and former students of the school that their photographs had been used in nude images sold online.
On Wednesday, Iskandar Puteri police obtained remand orders for the two teenagers to assist in their investigation into the sale of AI-generated nude photos.
One of the suspects is a 16-year-old boy and the other is aged 19. The 16-year-old is alleged to have used AI tools and photos from social media to create the nude images using the victims’ faces. He was alleged to have sold them online for RM2 each.
