PETALING JAYA: An 82-year-old man fractured his spine after being shoved in a dispute with another senior citizen over a parking space at a supermarket in Masjid Tanah, Melaka.
Alor Gajah police chief Ashari Abu Samah said the suspect, 65, was arrested yesterday over the incident which occurred on Feb 4, and placed under a two-day remand, Kosmo reported.
“The victim was said to have argued with the suspect over the parking spot before he was shoved, causing him to fall on his back on the road.
“As a result, the victim suffered a fractured spine,” Ashari was quoted as saying.
The case is being probed under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt, which is punishable by up to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine.
