
Selangor fire and rescue department (JBPM) assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said flash floods were recorded in Petaling, Klang, Sepang, Hulu Langat, and Gombak.
He said floodwaters rose up to 0.6m in several areas in the Petaling district, reported Bernama.
Affected areas in the Petaling district include Kampung Tengah, Puchong, where six victims were evacuated to the temporary relief centre (PPS) at the Putra Heights Mosque.
Mukhlis said 30 houses were also flooded in Kampung Seri Aman, Puchong, affecting 120 victims.
Meanwhile, in Kampung Padang Jawa, Shah Alam, 20 houses were affected with three victims evacuated.
In the Klang district, Mukhlis said eight victims in Taman Sri Jaya were evacuated to the PPS at SK Sungai Binjai.
In the Hulu Langat district, 15 people were evacuated following a flood in Kampung Sungai Merab Luar, Kajang.
Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said police personnel had been sent to monitor traffic since 7am in flood-affected areas such as Taman Sri Muda, Budiman Promenade, and Padang Jawa.
He said the situation in Shah Alam and the surrounding areas was under control as floodwaters had started receding, with traffic conditions also returning to normal.
