PETALING JAYA:
Police are holding further investigations after a teenager who pleaded guilty to concealing the birth of her baby last month said she became pregnant after being raped.

Sabak Bernam police chief Yusof Ahmad confirmed that a report had been lodged by the family after the 18-year-old told the magistrates’ court today of the rape.

“It is still under investigation,” he told FMT briefly when contacted.

The teen and her 41-year-old mother were previously arrested to assist in an investigation into the discovery of a baby’s body in a toilet bowl at a petrol station in Kampung Sungai Haji Dorani, Sabak Bernam.

An investigation found that CCTV footage had captured a pregnant woman entering the women’s restroom, accompanied by another woman.

Today, the girl pleaded guilty to concealing the birth of her baby on March 24 and was sentenced to a month in prison and a RM5,000 fine. She paid the fine.

She told the court she became pregnant after being raped by a man with whom she was newly acquainted. She also said she kept the incident a secret out of fear.
